[Update: The Lynchburg Ferry will reopen on Monday, August 22nd as scheduled maintenance and improvements continue.] Precinct 2 Commissioner Jack Morman has announced the closure of the Lynchburg Ferry starting Monday, August 8th through Friday, August 19th for scheduled maintenance and improvements on both ferry landings. Please use alternate routes during this time. Alternate routes include:

Traffic heading northbound:

  • (EZ Tag Only) Use SH-225 West to Sam Houston Tollway North back to I-10 East
  • Use SH-225 East to SH-146 North to Spur 330 North back to I-10

Traffic heading southbound:

  • (EZ Tag Only) Use I-10 West to Sam Houston Tollway South back to SH-225 East
  • Use I-10 East to Spur 330 South to SH-146 South back to SH-225 West

Regular hours of operation are expected to resume on Saturday, August 20th, which are 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 4:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  “Nearly 1,000 vehicles a day still count on the Ferry to cross the Ship Channel, so we will work as quickly as possible to make these necessary improvements,” said Commissioner Morman.
