Mosquito Control

swatThe Harris County PCT2 Mosquito Abatement division primarily targets the salt marsh mosquitoes that blanket east Harris County. Using current technology, safe and cost effective chemical controls, we aim to minimize the population of these very aggressive mosquitoes. Through a strategic combination of awareness, source reduction and chemical control, the Mosquito Abatement division works to decrease the activity of nuisance pest mosquitoes in our precinct. In addition, through public awareness and public education materials, we also work to decrease the transmission of mosquito borne diseases and secondary infections transmitted by other mosquito species as well.

In an effort to educate the residents of Harris County about the dangers of mosquitoes, a SWAT newsletter is published quarterly and brochures are given to Precinct 2 citizens and community groups.
