Precinct 2’s responsibilities include building and maintaining roads, bridges and parks, as well as operating the Washburn Tunnel and the Lynchburg Ferry.

One of the newer Precinct Two initiatives is the Better
Streets2Neighborhoods program, which was designed to preserve and maintain the existing streets in our neighborhoods – protect them before we lose them. These projects are listed on the BetterStreets2Neighborhoods page of this web site.

There is another new initiative of fun projects for our parks which has already started and will be completed in 2013. We call it BetterParks2Neighborhoods. Changes to some of the parks include:

  • Kids’ Spray Water Park
  • Outdoor Fitness Zones
  • New Restrooms
  • Monitored Safety Cameras
  • Free Public WiFi
  • Parking Lot Improvements
  • Outdoor Showers at Sylvan Beach
  • Food Truck Pads
  • Trails with Shade Canopies
  • Selective Clearing of Some Parks
  • Additional Lighting

Esplanade Landscaping Enhancements - Tree and flower planting in various busy esplanades is happening in Pct. 2. Keep watching – there is more beautification to come!

The Capital Improvement Projects page on this web site has information on the Road and Bridge Projects.
