This week is National Police Week, a time when we honor and remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. This year, three of our own had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. to take part in the various planned events for Police Week. Sgt. Gerrish and Deputies Brinkley and Lacy have been kind enough to share some photos with us. Sadly, in 1929, Precinct 8 Constable John M. Weaver was shot and killed in the line of duty. They were able to locate his name on the national memorial and took an etching of it. Here are the photos from their time there so far. Thank you gentlemen for helping us be a part of this week in our nation’s capitol.
