PASADENA/LA PORTE, Texas – Commissioner Jack Morman is excited to announce the start of construction on phase two of Fairmont Parkway improvements for Monday, November 5th. The $3.7 million phase includes the installation of fiber-optic cable and permanent signal upgrades on Fairmont Parkway between Beltway 8 and 7th Street.

“This project is nearly 8 miles long, so I’d like to thank City of La Porte, Pasadena, and TxDOT for their help in getting this project through,” said Commissioner Morman. “We expect construction to wrap up in the fourth quarter of 2019.”

Construction is expected to have minimal impacts on traffic as majority of the work will be done off the roadway.

Phase one, which was completed in June, improved 14 intersections along the corridor by adding and extending left-turn lanes, as well as installing temporary signals.
