ASPHALT ROADWAY REPAIRS BEGIN THROUGHOUT PRECINCT 2

Commissioner Adrian Garcia’s Office begins roadwork in the Crosby, Barrett, Baytown, La Porte areas.

Harris County, TX— Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia is proud to announce the start of construction on a new BetterStreets2Neighborhood (BS2N) project. BS2N is a program dedicated to preserving asphalt roadways throughout the Precinct. Improvements include restoring the base, overlaying it with new asphalt for a brand new, smooth-riding surface, and then finishing it off with striping.

This particular project will repair nearly 25 miles of asphalt roadways throughout the Arcadian Garden, Barrett, Baytown, La Porte, and Lake Shadows areas. Construction will require single-lane closures throughout various stages of work. Drivers are reminded to be mindful of signage and workers, and travel through the work zones with caution. Construction is expected to be complete in early 2021.

“My team is committed to maintaining and improving our infrastructure, and this project is an example of my commitment to making sure our constituents can travel safely throughout the Precinct, and that means making sure we have quality roadways,” said Commissioner Adrian Garcia. “In addition to these capital improvement projects, we recently purchased two pothole repair trucks for our internal crews and secured additional on-call contracts for asphalt repairs that may be too large for us to handle. I’m very proud of my team and their efforts as we continue to serve our residents. Every day my team and I are working hard for Precinct 2 families.”
