The safety and well-being of our communities come first in Precinct 2. We understand that during this time food accessibility can be limited due to vacant grocery stores. However, the Houston Food Bank, school districts, as well as other organizations are working together to host food distributions in various areas, in efforts to address the food insecurity while following social distancing procedures for the safety of the community.

As National Hispanic Heritage month approaches, it is important to not only look back and recognize the accomplishments of the Hispanic/Latino community but to also honor all of our Hispanic/Latino veterans, who have made history by fighting for our rights and have helped drive hard-won progress for all the community.

During these difficult and trying times, relief will be available for anyone directly or indirectly affected by COVID-19 in Harris County. Whether someone has been diagnosed themselves or whether they’ve experienced financial stress because of measures taken by officials that have caused financial disruption, help is on the way.

With the entire country finding itself in unchartered territory due to the Coronavirus outbreak, Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia’s office is working around the clock to help its residents maintain a sense of normalcy during these uncertain and trying times.
