Q&A with Carlos Lopez, Precinct 2's Food Services Driver

1. Describe your role in Precinct 2 and how long you’ve worked here.
For the past 29 years working for Harris County Precinct 2, I’ve proudly dedicated my days to ensuring our senior citizens receive a hot meal five days a week. I wake up each morning with a purpose, knowing that hundreds of our Precinct 2 seniors are counting on me to help them eat today. It’s a deeply rewarding feeling to know that what I do each day makes such a meaningful difference in someone else’s life.
2. What do you enjoy most about your job?
I am grateful to belong to a community-driven effort that touches countless lives and proves that helping one another truly makes a difference. You cannot do a job as long as I have without loving what you do and having a deep passion for those you serve.
3. May is Older Americans Month where we recognize older Americans' contributions to society and reaffirm our commitment to serving older adults. What does this observance mean to you?
Our seniors are the foundation of our past. Caring for them is not just a duty- it’s an honor that paves the way for a greater future. I take pride in supporting those who have shaped our world and gifted us the opportunities we enjoy today.
