1. Describe your role and how it impacts the lives of Precinct 2 residents.

As a Community Relations Liaison for Harris County Precinct 2, I proudly represent Commissioner Adrian Garcia in the East Aldine community. Aldine is the largest, most diverse, and unincorporated area within the precinct. My role focuses on the East Aldine community and centers on building strong partnerships, managing outreach efforts, and ensuring its residents, businesses, and organizations remain connected to county resources and leadership. Through these efforts, I strive to amplify the voices of East Aldine residents, ensure their concerns are heard, and drive initiatives that enhance their quality of life. My mission is to keep the Aldine community informed, engaged, and well-represented — building trust and creating lasting, positive change.

2. Describe a moment in your role as a community liaison where you saw the direct impact of your work.

One of the most impactful moments in my role was addressing the growing homelessness crisis in East Aldine, particularly around the Little York and 59 area. Determined to make a difference, I partnered with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), the East Aldine Management District (EAMD), and the Career and Recovery Resources organization through the Employ2Empower Program.

Together, we took a compassionate, solutions-based approach — connecting individuals experiencing homelessness to job opportunities, housing assistance, and vital resources. This collaboration not only improved public safety and reduced visible homelessness but also restored dignity and hope to those willing to accept help. Witnessing individuals rebuild their lives reaffirmed the power of partnership and the purpose of my role.

3. The holiday season is coming up and you play a major role in community events. What is your favorite holiday event in East Aldine and why?

My favorite holiday event in East Aldine is the Christmas Parade, an event I’m proud to have helped bring to life with the support of my leadership team and community partners. Seeing the streets filled with lights, laughter, and families coming together reminded me why I do what I do. It’s a joyful time when residents can celebrate the season, connect with one another, and create lasting memories. Witnessing the smiles and excitement from children and families truly makes all the hard work worthwhile.

4. The Precinct 2 community relations division recently divided Aldine and assigned two liaisons to this community. How do you believe this helps you better serve our Aldine residents?

I’ll admit, at first, I wasn’t thrilled about dividing Aldine into East Aldine and West Aldine, but after just one month, I’ve seen how beneficial this change truly is. With two liaisons now serving the area, we’re able to give each side the attention it deserves. My teammate, Myriam Saldivar, represents the West Aldine community and is a great partner.

Each part of Aldine has unique needs, cultures, and priorities — and this decision allows us to focus more intentionally, respond faster, and build stronger relationships within each community. It has ultimately strengthened our ability to serve residents effectively and with greater care.

5. What inspired you to pursue a career in government and community outreach?

Working in government wasn’t something I initially planned. I was a full-time entrepreneur with no intention of taking on a full-time government role. But God had other plans for me.

When the opportunity opened, I followed my faith and found my true calling — serving the people of Aldine. What began as an unexpected path has become my passion and purpose. I’m grateful every day for the chance to give back to the community that raised me, and I now aspire to continue a career in government so I can keep being a voice for my community and an advocate for meaningful change.
