1. Describe how your role and how it impacts the lives of Precinct 2 residents.

I have proudly served Harris County Precinct 2 for the past 14 years, where I’ve dedicated my career to maintaining safe, high-quality outdoor spaces for our community. As Operational Services Manager and a Certified Playground Safety Inspector, I oversee the inspection, maintenance, repair, and replacement of 65 playground, 5 splash pads, 17 basketball and tennis/pickleball courts and more. I am responsible for making sure the equipment is safe, accessible, and enjoyable for everybody.

2. Can you describe a moment while working for Precinct 2 when you really felt the impact of your work?

After Hurricane Beryl in 2024, with the help from a few others we had the task of inspecting the playgrounds for any damages and to ensure they were safe to use. Helping to restore parks after natural disaster is very important. Giving people a place to play after disaster is very fulfilling.

3. What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I find most rewarding in my role is seeing the joy and excitement that playgrounds bring to families.

4. What is your favorite Precinct 2 park and why?

One of my favorite parks is David Burnet Park. The park serves both as a recreation space and a living history exhibit, allowing visitors to learn about the Burnett family’s frontier life and their place in Texas history.

Chuck Daniels was born and raised in Channelview, TX and this year marks 14 years working with Precinct 2. He graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2011 and started working with the Precinct the following year as a temporary park caretaker.
