Commissioner Garcia provides statement about concerns about HART Vendor
Harris County was the lead applicant of a consortium of 22 Texas cities, counties and non-profits to apply for the $249,700,000 Solar for All grant that was just awarded by the EPA. In total, the EPA has announced $7 Billion in Solar for All grants to around 60 applicants coming from states, territories, Tribal governments, municipalities, and nonprofits.

With that goal in mind, the Precinct 2 Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO) was established to create a competitive and diverse environment to promote the growth and success of historically underutilized businesses through meaningful participation in the county procurement process.
HOUSTON, Texas – Starting March 1, 2020, the Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA) will manage operations of the Lynchburg Ferry and Washburn Tunnel. This includes overseeing daily operations, maintenance, capital expenditures, and public inquiries for both facilities. Per the Commissioners Court meeting held on June 25, 2019, these facilities will be transferred to the Toll Road Authority without the imposition of tolls. Drivers should expect no changes to operations when utilizing the Ferry or Tunnel, and no current employees will lose their jobs.

CHANNELVIEW - JACINTO CITY, TX – August 28, 2019 – Commissioner Adrian Garcia is proud to announce that construction will begin on a new BetterStreets2Neighborhoods (BS2N) project in the Channelview and Jacinto City areas in September. BS2N is a Precinct 2 program dedicated to preserving asphalt roadways by conducting base repairs, asphalt milling and overlay, as well as roadway button and striping replacement.
HOUSTON, TX— On August 21, 2019, members of the community joined Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia and The Harris County Flood Control District to celebrate the completion of the Forest Hill Boulevard Bridge. The now completed bridge is located on Forest Hill Boulevard just south of Briscoe Elementary School.
